Before he was degraded and brutally murdered, Col. Muammar Gaddafi, Jacob Zuma and Robert Mugabe made a trio of presidents who had the whole continent and the laughing at their antics and rhetoric.
With the demise of the colonel, Ugandan strongman Yoweri Museveni seems to have filled the shoes very ably and with each turn he is becoming adept at showmanship and quotable speeches. After pulling his roadside phone talk, Yoweri got a chance to play the benevolent father in equally spectacular fashion.
While presiding over a function a woman from the attending crowd decided to have a go at meeting the president, however the security officer were blocking her leaving her to lie on the ground writhing, at this juncture Museveni intervened asking one of his guards to let the lady come.
Unflustered, the lady came forward proceeding to bow and kneel before the president and then to everyone’s surprise, she planted herself on his lap for a moment enjoying the rare privilege. The actions left the president in laughter shocked but enjoying the spectacle. Here is the video of Yoweri showing he is not always brutal and domineering.
