Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has turned his sword against President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, after poaching many of his MPs, including Budalangi MP, Ababu Namwamba.
The ex-PM warned them against increasing taxes arbitrarily vowing to fight them to the bitter end.
Speaking yesterday, Raila, through ODM Chairman, John Mbadi, told Uhuru/ Ruto to stop increasing taxes to cushion the majority of poor Kenyans from the high cost of living.
He said the prices of petroleum products will certainly rise again in October given that the introduced but suspended VAT in the 2014/ 2015 Financial Year will take effect.
“We wish to tell Uhuru/ Ruto and the Jubilee administration that Kenyans have had enough.”
“We have been taxed enough. Kenyans cannot take anymore taxation. The belt cannot be adjusted and tightened anymore,” said Mbadi.
