But as one of the interregional highways freshly constructed under the Lamu Port South Sudan Ethiopian Transport Corridor (LAPSSET) Program, the 508 kilometer road has opened up northern Kenya, offering the perfect road trip through breathtaking natural sceneries.

A treacherous journey that used to take three days- mainly in lorries – now takes just 10 hours in saloon cars or public service vehicles.
The LAPSSET infrastructure project is the single biggest infrastructure project initiated by the Kenyan Government and is meant to create seamless connectivity between Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
