A woman from Kasarani estate in Naivasha is in police custody after killing a 2-day-old baby in a fit of rage.
The woman went completely berserk during a fight with her neighbour who she claimed had an affair with her husband.
She stormed the neighbour’s house, grabbed the baby and hit it on the wall.
She alleged the baby was a product of the affair between the woman and her husband.
Witnesses said the two women quarrelled for a while before she descended on the baby.
“The woman grabbed the minor and smashed her on the wall,” a witness said
Unfortunately, the baby was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. Police rescued the suspect from members of the public who wanted to lynch her.
Angry residents bayed for the suspect’s blood seeking to lynch her, she was rescued by police who arrived at the scene.
The suspect is currently being held at Kongoni police station and is set to be charged with murder as investigations continue.
