Plans by Kirinyaga County government to dissolve the Kirinyaga Water and Sanitation Company (Kiriwasco) have failed amid confusion over its current state of affairs.
Speaking during a stakeholders meeting the county’s water and irrigation CEC Ann Mwangi, declared that the board had been dissolved claiming it does not represent all stakeholders.
However, the company secretary Wachira Kibanya and the board chairman James Waweru Gachibiri dismissed the order saying the CEC has no power to dissolve the board. Kibanya said only shareholders have the power to throw out the board members from the office in the shareholder annual general meeting.
