Police in Witeithie, Juja Sub County have nabbed four notorious robbers said to be part of a notorious gang that has been stealing from people.
The four were nabbed on Thursday evening at a house in Molo estate within Witeithie estate.
Police are said to have raided their rental house after receiving a tip-off from members of the public.
The four suspects are linked to a series of robberies within Juja, Thika and parts of Murang’a County.
Confirming the arrest, Juja Sub County Deputy Commissioner (DCC) Muthama Wambua said that the four have been on the police watch list for the last three months.
During the raid police recovered three motorcycles, three 6kg gas cylinders and other household goods.
“We raided the suspect’s house after we received information from the members of the public,” said Wambua during a briefing with journalists at Mukuyu police station in Juja on Thursday as quoted by the Star
The DCC said that the suspects aged between 15 and 22 will be arraigned in court once police investigations are complete.
Wambua warned criminals saying that they will be smoked out.
“We are telling criminals there days are numbered and as police officers we will do everything to smoke them out,” he said.
The DCC assured locals of their security saying patrols will be intensified this festive season.
He appealed to locals to partner with the police and embrace the Nyumba Kumi security policy.
Residents of Witeithie have been lamenting over rising criminal activities in the recent past.
According to locals despite police patrols criminals are still prowling the area and causing havoc.
