Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s CORD has pulled out of the IEBC dialogue that was being spearheaded by Members of Parliament.
Raila Odinga directed his MPs to withdraw from Parliamentary committees that were seeking to resolve the IEBC stalemate until all the 8 MPs from both and Jubilee, who were arrested and detained over hate speech, are released unconditionally and without charge.
This comes after a Kenyan petitioned the National Assembly and asked it to sack Isaac Hassan and his commissioners Political Consultant Nyikuri Barasa wants IEBC commissioners sacked over incompetency and lack of integrity.
He also wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to form a tribunal to investigate the IEBC bosses.
“The petitioner prays that the National Assembly immediately deliberates on this petition as a matter of urgency, interrogates and ascertains the ground for removal if IEBC commissioners,” Speaker Muturi told MPs.
However, with the withdrawal of CORD, it will be difficult to resolve the impasse just yet.
