Tis the season for marriage proposals. Just a few days after we highlighted a story about two lovebirds who got engaged at The Hub in Karen, we bring you a similar story about another couple, although this one is not as rosy.
An engagement between a young couple at Java House along Kimathi Street did not go as planned after the lady caused a stir right after the man popped the question.
She did not turn him down ladies and gentlemen, far from it. After saying YES, the lady refused to kiss the man and chose to rest her head on the table.
Instead of giving up – like very few men would – the man who is said to be in his 20s kept pleading with the lady to kiss him but she refused to give in.
He then stood up from his seat to pick an engagement ring box that had that had dropped to the ground and in the process he went for the kiss but this did not work either.
Feeling very embarrassed, the man who was dressed in a purple sweater and black jeans went back to his seat but continued to talk to his girlfriend.
Seeing that things were not going as planned, a friend who had accompanied him for the ‘big occasion’ walked over to where they were seated to offer moral support.
Apparently, before he had to beg his girlfriend for a kiss, the was forced to stay on his knees for more than five minutes while begging her to take the ring.
